Doug was a quiet but enormously positive influence on us as we grew up and hosted us in the US on several occasions, showing us the conservation work he was involved in and sharing his love for sailing and the outdoors. His calm and assured outlook was inspiring and every moment spent in his company was precious. We will remember Glendronach on the terrace, with fireflies lighting up the dark, in the tranquil forest he made his family's home.
